It is what all the cool memes are doing nowadays!
The only rule is, don't be a total passive-aggressive douche. This isn't the place to spew all your vitriolic unrequited blackrom feelings for other members of of our dear fandom--or if you can't resist, at least don't mention them by name, that shit is just a little too petty. If it gets out of hand I'll ban you so fast Karkat would be impressed.
Other than that, hop to it, anons. And TITLE YOUR THREADS it could get pretty confusing all up in here if you didn't!

All fandoms, if they get big enough, must eventually develop pairing shorthand~ It's an exciting time in a fandom's life, when things like collective fanon and shorthand begin to enter into the fandom consciousness! And pairing shorthand is so~ fascinating~ and there are so many different ways to do it! From initials to namesmushes to Japanese namesmushes to whatever shit goes down in Pokemon and Yugioh fandoms, every fandom has a unique way of doing things! Because every~ fandom~ is~ special~ in its own special way~~~
Ahem.
That said, can I register a vote against initialing (is J/KK Karkat/John or Karkat/Jade? YOU DON'T KNOW. YOU MAY NEVER KNOW) and for ridiculous namesmushes? I mean, think about it. Johnkat! Vantbert! Karohn. I would laugh forever. And then cry, but that's not the point.
(in all seriousness, though, we kind of have built-in pairing shorthand. trolltags, anyone?)

it gets a bit awkward trying to figure out how to label ♣ though, since there are three people involved. i go for auspitice♣other/other -- so kanaya♣vriska/tavros, for example -- but i've seen a few other things around.
so what do you guys think??

Since auspitice can be for a couple different types of relationships, I'd write it differently for different ones. auspitice♣other/other would be for stabilizing a flipflop or undefined relationship, and auspitice♣other♠other for one that's regular black. kanaya♣vriska♠tavros and kanaya♣aradia/equius. And that makes it possible to describe any unusual relationships involving ♥ or ♦ that people might write about. (jade♣karkat♦sollux?)
